The Rev. Allison Read

The Rev. Allison Read joined Groton School in the summer of 2020 to serve as chaplain and director of spiritual life and to teach in the Religion Studies and Philosophy Department. Prior to serving at Groton, Allison was college chaplain and dean of spiritual and religious life at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut for 13 years.

Allison earned a bachelor of arts in English (Modern Studies) and religious studies (Christianity and Islam) from the University of Virginia, and both an M.A.R. and M.Div. from Yale Divinity School, as well as a diploma in Anglican studies from Berkeley Divinity School at Yale. Allison was ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church by the Bishop of New York and before turning to educational settings, served parish churches in New York City and New Jersey.

We look forward to welcoming Allison, her husband, James, and their teenage son, Jamie, to St. Ann’s!
