Baptisms

The sacrament of baptism is a joyful rite of initiation into the Christian life. It is customarily performed within the particular congregation where a family lives and participates. As a summer parish without a year-round community we modify this practice by offering the sacrament to families associated with St. Ann’s in some formal way. This includes belonging to a family with a historic connection to the parish or actively participating in the life of the parish.

Baptisms are performed on Sunday mornings at one of the morning services or after the 10:00am service. St. Ann’s uses the baptism service found in the 1979 Book of Common Prayer of the Episcopal Church. The service may be held outside in the Seaside Chapel or inside the Stone Chapel and lasts approximately 30 minutes.

If you are affiliated with St. Ann’s and would like to have your child baptized, please email Cyndi Magill to learn about the donation requirement and to set a date.
